Each demonstrates a defining or signature technique along with examples of his or her work. The book also contains a "gallery of legends," a section devoted to those artists whose legacies will live on, whose teaching and work makes an invaluable contribution to the aesthetics of the medium and to their students. Each legend commentary includes a noted work of art and a descriptive summary of his or her contribution to the medium.
